Strengthening our senior team

by Thompson Brand Partners

Following on from our MBO last year, we’ve put in place plans to accelerate our growth over the coming years. To help us achieve our goals, we’ve added two new ‘Head of’ roles – to support the leadership team, broaden our services to existing clients and help us develop new business.

  • Nick Hynes, Head of Writing

Nick is a highly experienced copywriter with over 30 years in branding and design. He joins us from Elmwood after previously working for McCann in Norway, and freelancing around the UK, Europe and Scandinavia. Nick has been a jury foreman at the D&AD professional awards and is regular guest lecturer at the University of Leeds.

As Thompson’s first in-house writer, Nick is here to promote the role of the written word in the creation of distinctive brands. He’s also working with our teams to integrate writing into the agency’s creative processes. Outside work, Nick is the drummer with Huddersfield’s most persistent indie-pop band, Instant Species.

    Jodi Warren, Head of Development

Jodi joins us from 10up and has worked previously at JH. He has over a decade of experience in producing websites and mobile apps. His role at Thompson is to develop our digital process and services, and to help us deliver innovative and polished web projects. To this end, he encourages user-first and accessible design and build. Away from work, he enjoys travelling and attending film festivals. His other hobbies include cooking, gaming, and being disappointed at the guitar.

Commenting on the new hires, Managing Partner Paul McGuigan said:

“The exceptional creative work, our brilliant clients, talented, hardworking team – there’s so much that’s already great at Thompson. But the addition of Nick and Jodi is taking things up a notch already. They’re the type of people you just can’t pass by (smart, creative and thoroughly house trained) and we’re excited to have them on board. Keep your eyes peeled for projects that are enriched by their expertise.”
