Thompson and Leeds Building Society share in major design award

We’re happy to announce that we’ve recently won a Silver award at the DBA’s Design Effectiveness Awards 2016. We were really proud to have bagged an award in the ‘Strategic Value of Design’ category for our work with Leeds Building Society. The category recognises work that has generated outstanding financial returns and had a genuine impact on the strategic direction of the client organisation.

Judged by business leaders and entered jointly by client and designer, the Design Effectiveness Awards are both rigorous and authoritative. They celebrate the power of design to drive business success and provide compelling proof of why design is a sound commercial investment. The DBA’s Design Effectiveness Awards have been championing the role of effective design in the creation of business growth since the association was formed 27 years ago.

  • Since launching the new modern visual identity and customer-focused proposition, operating profits at Leeds Building Society have increased 26% to £80.9million (12 months to 31 December 2014). This is an all time record level in 140 years for the business and significantly higher than UK economic growth of 2.6%. Record membership numbers have also been achieved with 69,000 new members added, taking the total to 721,000. The Building Society’s colleague engagement index rose from 70 to 76%, more than 100 new jobs were created and 7,800 mortgages were made to First Time Buyers.
