Come in and tell us a story

by Rachel Cook

We love a good story here. The ones we like best are from creative people who make nice things or do cool stuff. Stories get our brains buzzing, make us smile, and get us talking. We think that’s a very good thing.

So we thought it might be a good idea to invite some of these lovely creative types to come and talk to us. We offered them our nicest biscuits and promised to sit nicely while they talk about whatever they like – and they all said yes! So every few weeks we’ll be opening our doors to a whole load of brilliant people, coming to tell us whatever story they’d like to tell.

  • We’ve called it Open House because we’re open to hearing about absolutely anything creative and inspiring. And, well, because an open house is exactly what it’s like at Thompson. Our door’s always open, the kettle always on, and we love nothing more than when people make themselves at home here.

Charles Quick. A clever man in high vis

Our first visitor is Charles Quick. He’s an artist, writer, lecturer and all round clever chap, known for dressing up in high-vis and switching streetlamps on and off with a pokey stick. He’s joining us next week – hopefully with his yellow jacket – and we can’t wait.

  • Come to Open House

Although we’re keeping our story time to ourselves for now, we’ll be sure to fill you in on all the good stuff we’ve heard. If you’d like to join us for a future Open House though, let us know, as we’re going to open it up to friends and generally nice people very soon.

Oh, and if you’ve got an interesting story, we’d love you to come in and share it with us. Just get in touch – we’ll have a comfy seat (and the all-important brew & biscuits) waiting for you.

P.S. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram for updates and to see the nice little house animation…
